Do you want to promote your BT Tradespace and get more views and more visibility?
Here’s how to add your Tradespace to twitter in 10 simple steps.
You will need:
An account at Hootsuite.com a BT Tradespace with content to promote. A twitter account. 20-30 minutes of time.
1. Open an account at Hootsuite.com
2. Add your profile to Hootsuite (there is a button with add profile and a green plus sign, look out for it)
3. Go to the settings section and find the tab that has add RSS/Atom on it, click that tab and then the green plus button that adds new feed.
4. Press control T and open BT Tradespace in the new tab that comes up.
5. On your tradespace find the icon that looks like this ![]()
6. Right click the ‘subscribe to our feed’ text next to the icon
7. A box will appear – click on the one saying properties.
8. Another box will appear, usually at the top of the screen, highlight this text and press control ‘C’ (Copy short cut)
9. Go to the Hootsuite tab and in the section for the feed url add the cursor and then press control ‘V’ (paste short cut)*.
10. Adjust the settings to how you would like them ie how often the feed should be checked (ideally once an hour and one post) and then choose which profile to tweet from. Then hit save feed.
All done? Not quite…
Now you just need to add a blog or product to your Tradespace site and it will be updated to twitter within the hour.

Thanks Sarah – very useful. You may be interested to know that twitterfeed works the same way as Hootsuite.

PS: BTW – do you really mean control-Z? On my computer that means ‘undo’. My paste shortcut is control-V.

I use twitterfeed too, but found on the whole Hootsuite was faster and easier to set up. With twitterfeed you are not restricted to just 5 feeds, and my theory is if you have more than 5 feeds you are technically able to set up twitterfeed and use it rather than Hootsuite… (what famous last words they will be)

PS I wrote how to do that on my Essex Girl blog, if anyone wants to add their feeds to twitterfeed
