Guest Blog: Adding your own blog to BT Tradespace

We’ve been asking for it for ages, and now BT Tradespace have done it!!

You can now import your existing blog straight into your Tradespace and kill two birds with one stone. Every time you post to your blog, you’ll have a new “news post” on your Tradespace site, increasing your content and improving your chances of being found on both Google and Tradespace search.

So how do I do it?

First, you need to find your blog’s RSS feed URL. This will enable Tradespace to pick up your posts. To find your RSS feed, look in the address bar of your browser for the little orange RSS icon and click on it. You need to copy the URL to your clipboard by right clicking on the address and selecting “Copy”.

Now log into your Tradespace dashboard and click on the “news” tab. On the right hand side you’ll see a link that says “Add an existing Blog”. Click the link.

Paste the URL you just copied to your clipboard into the “Enter feed URL” box by right clicking in the box and selecting “Paste”. Click “Import my blog” and that’s it, you’re done!!

I look forward to seeing your blog posts appearing in your Tradespace!

  2. This is good news! I did ask Tradespace about this a year ago and they said “Cut & Paste”!

  3. I think that may have been because they knew the new site was coming, and it would be easier to implement there than on the existing site.

I like to tailor my content for different sites, so I shall see how it works :-)

  4. Where is the best place to discuss this? I’ve initiated it, but the blog feeds don’t port the graphics (I expected that as the BT Blog doesn’t provide pictures) but more alarmingly it only provides a few lines of the blog, with no link to the full text.

  5. Good grief! Something from Tradespace that works first time! :)

Very simple to do from the Tradespace end. The only issue I had that the feed from my blog had feed: at the beginning, not http: and Tradespace couldn’t handle that. Once I changed it things were fine.

  6. Nick… I can’t believe you have broke it ;-)
