One of the early worries for us was not so much writing the ebook, but preventing people from giving our content to people who had not paid for it. Ebook piracy can be a big problem, and let’s face it we have all had people send us ebooks that they have paid for or the download link has been socially bookmarked and people download your hardwork, for free

If you struggle with the writing aspect, go and have a chat with Bian Salins and Suzan St Maur, both excellent copywriters and excellent ghostwriters.
2 years ago there were not very many options, it was Secure ebook* or nothing.
Today as we sell them steadily, I use the Immediate Edge system, Fantasos which is included with a whole heap of other marketing tips, videos and just about everything you could ever want to market just about anything over the internet. I have found it useful for more than just selling ebooks.
Back to Secure ebooks, Secure ebooks is the original tool that I used to sell my ebooks. It allows the book in question to be locked to a PC and if it’s sent to someone else, they get a sample of the book and the chance to buy it. They do not get all of the content. The way it works can also be quite viral if the subject is fairly generic or something that many people are interested in. You will need to be able to upload a sample section and the ebook to your server and then add the secure ebook ‘wrapper’ to them, it’s not that hard – I can do it
It’s relatively low cost about 35p per book and if you buy the activation tokens in bulk, the price comes down. Start with a few, and increase them as you need them. The system will also tell you when the tokens are running low, so you can buy some more.
Want to see it in action? You can download a free sample of Linda Mattack’s ‘Gain more customers‘ ebook. This ebook is targeted at the transport industry, but you will see how the Secure Ebook system works
We found after 2 years we didn’t actually need the sample section, and at that point we moved over to the Immediate Edge system. This is a fraction more complicated than Secure Ebook, and is best explained by the creators of the products over at Immediate Edge.
If you are looking to sell ebooks securely, go and look over these products to help protect your ebooks and prevent unauthorised distribution. They work.

PS – Remember, ebooks don’t sell themselves, they still need marketing and for that you may need an ebook launch coach to get the best from it, and I hear this is one of the best – I have yet to try it.
* this post contains affiliate links, if you decide to buy I may get a payment. I have yet to actually get a payment as I tend to lose them after putting the cheque in a safe place…

i think Book Marketing takes more effort compared to e-mail marketing and social media marketing..~,
To market in terms of quality rather than price, and in order to differentiate accordingly, you need to follow the standard format of the 4 P’s marketing plan. That is, Price, Product, Place and Promotion – obviously you know the main attributes of the product, and the price, but for ‘place’ you should think about the type of people who are willing to pay over 4x price of competing product – whereas the cheap option may be sold where emphasis is on cost, your product will be suited to places/distributors where the customers will be willing to pay for quality.
