Adding your RSS feed to your Facebook page

With the advent of the Facebook like button, we have all been rushing to add these to our blogs, whilst forgetting one of the simplest things we can do is add our own blog feeds to Facebook. Whilst some people like to keep Facebook social, the lines between social and business are blurring and a feed that talks about what you do and shows your blog may enable family and friends to send business your way.

If you have a Facebook fanpage, then this is how you add your blog feed to the notes section of it. You can also add notes to your own profile and import your blogs there too.

  • Sign in to Facebook’s home page, then go to your fan page. Search for it in the search box if you have yet to add a link to your profile.
  • Go to  the “My Notes” link from the menu. If you have already entered notes on your page, then they will appear for you to look at and approve.
  • Click the “Import Blog” or “Edit Import Settings” tab in the Notes Setting section.

Note – If you are already importing from a blog, the URL should  appear here.

  • Enter the URL for the RSS feed in the box. Tick the box next to the statement that  says you actually own the content.
  • Do not import someone elses content, you may have your Facebook account suspended and in the worst case scenario lose your account.
  • Click the “Start Importing” button. Facebook will now import the blogs via  of the RSS feed for you to preview.
  • If everything looks normal, press  the “Continue” button. Your RSS feed is automatically imported into your “Notes” section.

See, easy.
