What’s this site about?
What’s this site about? It’s about putting your apron on and rolling up your shirt sleeves and getting your hands dirty.
It is not about being a guru (guru’s are not welcome here, sorry, go and preach guruness elsewhere
) just normal busy business people who want to get on with making their blogs and internet marketing work for them.
I started blogging to rescue a business and did that reasonably well (typical British understatement here). That’s what people like about me; my blogging skill has come from working at the coalface and not through luck or contacts. I am also the creator of the biggest multi author blog outside of the US aka Birds on the Blog. So I am not only a prolific transport and business blogger, I have actually set up a mega blog from scratch.
I am not a marketer, I am a blogger and I help other bloggers get started, get unstuck and get going. I am the communications director of a same day courier company. I am not a writer, although I am an accidental publisher.
Some other things you might not know about me…
- I read books. Lots of them.
- You can add me to a circle on G+
- I make a living not from selling how to make money online, but from promoting our transport company. A lot of people like that kind of practical, hands on knowledge.
- My ideal job would be thinking. All day, just thinking.
- I like the classics. Classics such as Plato and Archimedes.
- I love Archimedes.
- I do not watch TV but I do watch DVDs. I watched 24 in real time.
- I am still recovering from watching 24 in real time.
- I am a Sci Fi fan. Everything is equal in Sci fi.
- I play a mean game of Pinball. Some men (*waves at hubby*) can’t handle that.
This blog is a stash of some of my knowledge and my sandpit, it is my give back to the community. My other blogs pay for themselves, they work in their niches and over time I will hopefully explore what makes some blogs work and others not.
As it’s my sandpit blog, you will find typos and errors.
The more polished thoughts end up elsewhere. Yes, my best content is usually found as a guest post elsewhere this is not a novel approach but a strategy that works
. I will promise to spend more time polishing here if you promise not to hold me to that promise
Yes, I have affiliate links in this blog, sometimes I remember to identify them, sometimes I forget. Please consider this a blanket disclosure.
Want to buy something? Great I have an advanced blogging ebook you can purchase… you can also buy my time for blog coaching and blog makeovers (via me over at the Blogmistress). Lots to spend your money on. I want you to get used to that idea, for your blog to improve you will need to spend some money. It may be a premium theme, it maybe upgrading to Aweber, it may be an ebook. Get used to the idea.
There is no such thing as a free lunch, and you expect your customers to pay for your services. Why am I mentioning this right now? So you get used to the idea and the thought of improving is planted firmly your mind.
This is a generic and specialist blog all rolled into one, and if it helps you then great, I will be happy
if it doesn’t make comments and we’ll work it out together.
